Looking for something different - and a bit traditional - on the weekend?
Head on out to Mt. Yongdu Park, which is hosting folk performances on Saturdays and Sundays until mid-fall.
Sponsored by the Busan Cultural Foundation, the events are held in the afternoons and provide visitors with a unique experience that¡¯s hard to find elsewhere. A traditional folk performance will be held at 3 p.m. every Saturday until October 23 at the outdoor performance stage in front of the Jonggak. The shows include everything from nongak and samulnori to suyeongyaryu, drums performances and chwitadae. Visitors are invited to dance and sing at the gatherings, as organizers hope to create a festive mood. Additionally, the foundation will feature traditional music performances at 3 p.m. every Sunday until October 24 at the Mt. Yongdu outdoor performance stage. Visitors can learn old-school songs as well as participate in other programs such as making grass art, driving a hoop, kicking jaegi and jumping on neolttwigi. There will also be a variety of music that spans genres, from fusion to percussion. And best of all: admission is free. |
