Busan City recently announced that 31,310 foreigners were living in Busan as of the end of 2009, down 171 - or 0.5 percent - from the previous year. The data cover the number of residents registered with the city as of Dec. 31. The decline marks the first actual dip since 2004 and is largely the result of the economic downturn, which spurred many visitors to By nationality, there were 8,718 Chinese residents, ollowed by return back home.   4,617 Korean-Chinese residents, 4,222 Vietnamese, 1,740 Taiwanese, 1,598 Americans, 1,498 Indonesians and 1,432 Filipinos. Saha District has the most foreign residents with 3,830.
